Aliyah Tihani Salim (she/her) is an Indo-Guyanese feminist and organizer. She is a Senior Program Officer at Galaxy Gives, where she manages the Galaxy Leader Fellowship program, a transformative initiative that supports directly impacted leaders working to end mass incarceration and reimagine justice in the United States. Through her work, she plays a key role in fostering leadership, securing funding, and strengthening networks for grassroots changemakers.

Before joining Galaxy Gives, Aliyah worked as a field liaison for Freedom House, an international think tank focused on democracy and human rights, where she supported global advocates fighting against authoritarianism. She also led digital media for Women Across Frontiers Magazine, amplifying the voices of women fighting for gender equity worldwide. As a founding member of ReCoded, she helped build an organization that creates pathways to technology jobs for refugees, bridging the gap between displacement and economic opportunity.

Aliyah is deeply committed to community-led change and grassroots activism. She serves on the steering committees of Glamour Gals and Jahajee Sisters, two organizations dedicated to advancing the well-being of women, with a particular focus on mentorship, leadership development, and gender justice in the Indo-Caribbean community. She also serves on Community Board 8 in Queens, where she works to shape policies that directly impact housing, education, and local development in one of the most diverse boroughs in the world.

A firm believer in the power of storytelling and connection, Aliyah has worked to elevate the narratives of those most impacted by systemic harm, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also lead to meaningful change. She holds a BA and MS from New York University, where she focused on international human rights and media.

Above all, Aliyah is the proud mother of the best seven-year-old, who continues to be her greatest source of love, inspiration, and joy.
